Following the 6.8 hectare deal between Hermosa Ecozone Development Corporation (HEDC) and its latest locator, Sumi Philippines Wiring Systems Corporation (Sumi Philippines), a ground breaking ceremony for the latter was capped at HEIP, Bataan on July 29, 2011.
With the completion of the ground preparation work, Sumi Philippines Wiring Harness Production Facility is scheduled to be operational by March 2012 and is expected to employ up to 3,000 workers. According to Sumi Philippines President Takashi Takagaki, HEIP was chosen from a list of industrial parks for its accessible location and high standards in industrial park management. President Takagaki also cited the country’s generous supply of skilled workers.
Sumi Philippines is an affiliate of Sumitomo Wiring Systems Ltd. Of Japan, and one of Japan’s leading wiring harness manufacturer. The company is registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority as an Ecozone Export Enterprise.
