  • SPPI Draws on Solar Efficiency

    September 7, 2020

As part of its green initiatives, Science Park of the Philippines, Inc. has partnered with PHINMA Solar to install solar rooftop panels for its Park Administration Buildings, the first of which is at Light Industry & Science Park IV in Malvar, Batangas.

On January 30, 2020, PHINMA Solar officially turned over the system to SPPI representatives and LISP IV Operations team. Since the commencement of its operations, the 14 kilowatts (peak) solar panels provides about 90-100% of the building’s day-time power demand.

Road to sustainability. L-R: LISP II & HEIP VP Operations Mr. Patrick P. Perez, LISP IV VP Operations Mr. Milben T. Estrera, SVP for Industrial Engineering Mr. Bienvenido Jose T. Alora, PHINMA Solar AVP Mr. Arturo N. Monasterial Jr., PHINMA Solar Territory Manager Ms. Leilani R. Mendoza, Union Galvasteel Area Marketing Officer Ms. Genecel G. Liong.

It also comes with environmental benefits such as reduction in carbon dioxide equivalent to 48 trees planted and 0.35 tons of coal saved by using solar energy. As LISP IV expects more locators in the future, PHINMA Solar shall expand the solar installation up to 35 kilowatts (peak) to meet the increasing power demand.

PHINMA Solar contributes to the PHINMA Group’s thrust of making lives better for Filipinos by offering reliable end-to-end solar solutions that allow its customers to overcome the technical hurdles and prohibitive cost that come with using solar energy to power their businesses.
