Tulong Pambaon Project Moves Forward

Tulong Pambaon Project

July 27, 2019

In keeping with its mission to empower people in communities in which it operates, Science Park of the Philippines, Inc. actively supports various community programs including ICCP Group Foundation, Inc.’s (IGFI) Tulong Pambaon Project (TPP).

The Tulong Pambaon Project is one of IGFI’s core programs that aims to provide financial assistance of P20 daily allowance to underprivileged Grade 5 and 6 students in host communities. It started in 2011 with just four beneficiaries supported by IGFI. The program grew over the years, more so in 2016, when an employees’ involvement program for CSR activities was established. The sponsored kids increased in number as more ICCP Group employees signed up to sponsor students.

The P20 allowance from TPP can be used to buy food, for daily fare or other school materials needed to complete the kid’s education. It also serves as motivation for the students to keep going to school. For some people, P20 may seem like a small amount, but based on IGFI’s assessment in 2017-2018, it is a sufficient base amount for the program.

Students don’t need to be particularly gifted to be part of Tulong Pambaon Project. The main qualifying factors are the child’s drive and dedication to go to school, and economic status. These are determined through interviews with potential beneficiaries, their teachers, and of course, family.

Based on the initial assessment done with the teachers, parents and sponsored students themselves, TPP thrives to this day because of the generosity of its sponsors. Currently, all 245 sponsored kids in 20 partners schools under TPP have finished their primary education for the school year 2018-2019. At least thirteen (13) of them graduated with recognitions and honors.

Here’s a video showing an overview of the program as well as details on how you can be part of IGFI’s Tulong Pambaon Project.
