Senior High School Industry Immersion

In a collaborative effort between the IGFI and Light Industry and Science Park (LISP) I, II, and III Park Administration, the Senior High School Industry Linkage Project was initiated in 2018. This welcomed 298 Grade 12 students from Cabuyao, Calamba, Laguna, and Sto. Tomas, Batangas. They were strategically placed in 12 Science Park locators across LISP I, II, and III, providing them with a valuable opportunity for practical exposure to diverse industries.

From Nexperia and Gemphil to Continental Temic and ST Micro, the students engaged in a hands-on immersion experience, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world applications. This impactful project, supported by the Australian Embassy through the Asia Foundation, underscores the commitment of IGFI and SPPI to educational advancement and community development. To date, nearly 2,000 Grade 12 students from diverse public senior high schools have successfully finished the immersion program.

Tulong Pambaon Project

The Tulong Pambaon Project (TPP) extended vital financial aid to Grade 5 and 6 students in economically disadvantaged host communities. Established in 2011 with four beneficiaries, the initiative experienced substantial growth in 2018-2019 with 245 sponsored kids, thanks to an employee involvement program for CSR activities.

This expanded engagement has resulted in increased sponsorship for students, showcasing the commitment of ICCP Group employees to educational and community advancement. The daily P20 allowance from TPP contributes significantly to meeting students’ essential needs and serves as a motivational force for their ongoing education journey.

Donation Drive Program

Donation Drive Program
In a show of solidarity with communities affected by the Taal volcano eruption, SPPI and Pueblo de Oro Development (PDO) have taken proactive measures to provide relief. Collaborating closely, both companies initiated a relief operation in Sto. Tomas and Malvar, Batangas in 2020.

The distributed relief items, totaling 700 sets of sleeping mats, towels, and blankets, supported displaced families and evacuees from towns like Talisay and Agoncillo, especially those within the 14km radius of Taal volcano in areas such as Brgys. San Gregorio, Bilucao, San Juan, and Bulihan.

This marked their successful relief efforts, with additional contributions, including non-food essentials such as slippers, pails, dippers, hygiene kits, and diapers.

Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development Program

The IGFI played a pivotal role as a core partner in the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development (AMDev) Program in January 2023. This comprehensive, 5-year initiative aimed to cultivate a highly skilled and adaptable workforce tailored to the dynamic needs of the high-tech manufacturing sector.

In collaboration with the UNILAB Foundation, IGFI has formalized its commitment to advancing workforce development by signing a memorandum of agreement with USAID. The program focuses on strengthening the workforce through the establishment of an industry-led technical education system, emphasizing well-defined skills, harmonized qualifications, and robust competency and training standards.

Community Solid Waste Management Project

In January 2023, the Community Solid Waste Management Project was established, dedicated to enhancing environmental awareness and fostering sustainable practices within communities. The project aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and participation in environmental protection among community members by collaborating with local government units.

Through comprehensive training and the establishment of the “Bantay-Kaagapay Advocates,” the project empowered individuals to actively contribute to solid waste management initiatives. Targeting urban areas in Sto. Tomas,Lipa, Batangas City and Malvar in Batangas, San Fernando in Pampanga, Cabuyao and Calamba, Laguna, Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro in Misamis Oriental, the project trained and engaged at least 750 community members as advocates for responsible waste management.

Financial Literacy

Financial Literacy

In partnership with Pueblo de Oro (PDO), SPPI, and the BDO Foundation, IGFI launched a Financial Literacy Program for the residents of Barangay San Pedro II in Malvar, Batangas. Recognizing the critical role financial knowledge plays in family stability, this initiative equips parents with essential skills to manage their finances effectively, support their children’s education, and make informed decisions for their family’s future.

Hosted at San Pedro II Elementary School and endorsed by the local government, the workshop engaged over sixty parents in learning the basics of personal finance. This program aligns with PDO’s mission to empower local communities through enhanced financial education. Beyond this, PDO also supports livelihood programs and environmental seminars, further contributing to the sustainability and well-being of neighboring areas.

Community Livelihood

Since its inception in 1997, IGFI has been dedicated to community development through sustainable, long-term initiatives. Partnering with organizations like SPPI and PDO, IGFI’s projects focus on enhancing livelihoods, supporting environmental sustainability, and providing educational opportunities.

Additionally, IGFI’s “Tulong Pambaon” and advanced workforce development programs exemplify its commitment to fostering economic growth and stability within communities.
